I think it starts off with the first 3 letters of my suspects name, HER, then go down under the H you have N I need to find the A another N D E Z. I do have his name in the my name cipher and a clue to the last line of the 408. His clue to me was : Me thee Hippie Robet , Below that he wrote: 5 E's the 5th letter. I did find one person with that spelling of Robet Hernandez living in Antioch but it didn't give me his age. In the My name cipher I had a problem finding the R I needed for the first letter of his first name. The K in the solved 408 cipher has a /, but when you turn that to \ you get the R. The 8's along with the 3 -1's in the other cipher spell Ha Ha Ha , 8 being the 8th letter of the alphabet H and 1 being A. 12th house who I now do believe was the Zodiac posting at Tom's, told me the key to the 340 was in the my name cipher.

You said that Lyndon Lafferty gave the tips to crack the 340 cipher. What were these tips?

The Zodiac ciphers were substitution / transformation ciphers. Lyndon said that many people change the symbols to have it say what they want. That is a huge no no!
He showed me a way to work them and that was to get a large piece of glass , blow up the ciphers and put the glass over them. Then use a grease pen to work it out. It is easy to erase that way. Every once in a while I do play with the 340. Solving it isn't going to solve the case, so I spend most of my time trying to solve the case.
I believe he gave clues to his name in the 340, but not his whole name. That was just another one of his many taunts. If it is true that the key to the 340 is in the "My name cipher" and my suspect is truly the Zodiac, then he gave me the key, but it still doesn't make sense to me? Is it the 3 8's, or the name R Hernandez that I got from that cipher? Graysmith found Kaen my name from it. Which would fit one of the suspects Larry Kane.

Hmm, sounds interesting, maybe you could give me an example of how this works with the 340 cipher?
