Doesn't Springs road intersect Columbus Parkway at its east end?

Yes. Columbus Parkway and Vallejo are probably more important and significant to the killer or killers him/themselves than we pay a lot of attention to because it Intersects not only with Springs Road, but it's also the one and only way to get onto Lake Herman Road from Vallejo, you simply taake a right just before Blue Rock Springs Park on Columbus Parkway. Columbus Parkway Intersects with Springs Road just down the road from Blue Rock Springs and would take maybe 1 to two minutes driving from Blue Rock to Springs Rd turn-off intersection and obviously passing LHR on route.
December 20, 1968 Lake Herman Road gave Birth to a new and very unique serial murderer, the likes of which had not been seen before nor has any since. Because Lake Herman Road is where Zodiac burst onto the scene and took center stage in the Bay Area, and in Act Two Zodiac makes a cameo at Blue Rock Springs followed by his scene in Act 3 which observes Red Phantom using Roadside Payphone on Springs Rd at the Intersection of Tuolumne road, should we pay more attention to Columbus Parkway as an area where the main character of the storyline either himself lives, or knows that area significantly well, well enough to centre the first couple of acts in this very small geographical area? Criminal Profilers at The Behavioural Science Unit of the FBI will tell you that killers, specifically Serials, will have a 'comfort Zone' in which they will almost always strike in their early and beginning stages of their sprees. They do this for the obvious reason of security and a nervous tension or anxiety regarding their potential to get caught. If they know exactly where they are, which route offers the quickest and safest escape back into the shadows etc, and will remain here for the early stages of the Killers new 'Career.'
John Douglas describes the serial Killer as being formed or developed for years before he ever shows up to actually kill anyone. The development of the Serial Killer doesn't end when he makes the first kill, either. Douglas states that like a baby taking it's first steps, serial killers are just as uneasy and very cautious in taking that first step and will stay close to a support system they know can stop or prevent them failing within the early stages. After they, like the toddler who get's more confident and relaxed with each walk that doesn't end with failure and a fall, the Serial Killer also get's more confident and brazen with each successful kill they make and for most of them, this is what leads to their downfall and capture. When their confidence turns to arrogance, that's usually the end of their spree anbd freedom.
So, in the very beginning of this Stage Drama the Story is set in Vallejo and Columbus Parkway seems to be one of the main arteries that may lead to the heart of the Zodiac Killer.

Zodiac's known to have been on streets or in places in the first two double shootings that all have one common denominator running straight through the center of it as shown in the image below, that one thing being: Columbus Parkway! Click Image to enlarge.

W.C. I absolutely agree with you 100 percent. I have always said that Zodiac either lived or worked in Vallejo . We can see Zodiac developing into a more brazen killer after killing Darlene, by his Lake Berryessa stabbings and then riding with Paul Stine to then shoot him.
I don’t think that his first kill was in Benicia, I do believe it could have been Santa Barbara, then Riverside with more victims down south than we know of.
I wish all of you had a copy of the 63 minute DVD “ Hunting The Zodiac” where you can see Darlene’s sister Linda upset about no one believing her , that Larry Kane was the man who killed her sister. She said it emphatically! But then she thought that the picture I showed her of my suspect was Kane. ( They looked that much alike )
So was Zodiac Kane or was he my suspect ? Or was there more than one working in tandem, one of which had a connection to PH in S.F. ?

I was looking, too.
I asked about the cross street at the end of Springs Road in 1968 because there is a question about which apartments were on the end of Springs Road.

Coming from the direction of Blue Rock towards Springs rd, I think they are the apts on the right side of the rd., the ones on the corner of Springs and Columbus Parkway are the ones WC is asking about ? They look older than the other ones in that area. The city directory should give us that answer I hope? It might even let us know who the owner of those apts. were, sometimes it will give the name of the manager. By looking in the back of the directory , the address will sometimes give the names of the people renting the apts. I always check it to see who moved in or out. That was how I found who was living across the street from Darlene on Wallace st., before and after her death. Those directories have been a huge help to me when I found them in the late 80's. It was an "Eureka" moment!

Hey Sandy, Rick, thank you for looking into my question for me & I apologize for not replying for a while but my Father Passed away December 20th, just before Xmas & the date of his passing & that of Zodiac's first known attack at Lake Herman being one & the same, didn't go unnoticed by myself. Highly odd & unusual coincidence this should be the day my own Father passes away.
Anyway, all I can tell you about the appts. I refer to is that they are the ones in which Witness James Owen states that his colleague resides at, the work-mate who Owen hints to police they may wish to check with as, Owen claims, this colleague drives to work via the route that would take him passed the gated entrance at around the same time the crime took place because he works Night Shifts.

Hi WelshChappie. I don't know if you are still looking for the address of the apartments on Springs Rd.. but here they are. There are two apartment complexes at the Columbus Pkwy. end of Springs Rd. They both actually sit on Avian Rd.(the corner of Springs and Avian). The first one is 100 Avian Rd. built in 1968 and the second is 237 Avian Rd. built in 1965. There aren't any apartments at the other end of Springs Rd. I hope this is helpful, Seastooge

Seastooge, Thank you for looking into these apartments. There are some other apartments on both sides of Columbus Pkwy and Springs rd.
I haven't been to the Vallejo library for a long time, but as soon as I can, I will go and look for both addresses of the other apartments that I have seen there. I will also check the addresses you gave us. Thanks again

I only refer to them as 'Appts. at the end of Springs Rd" because that is what JJames Owen referrs to them as in His Witness statement. But yes, very helpful & Thank you once again :-)

I am trying to find the actual location and address for the 'Apartments on the end of Springs Rd' that are mentioned here:
I found two Humble Oil employees who lived at the apartments on Avian Drive by Springs Road circa 1969. Issac R. Kirkland who lived at 105 Avian Drive, Apt. A and Everett J. Talbot who lived at 105 Avian Drive, Apt. B I would like to know if either of them saw anything unusual on Lake Herman Road on December 20, 1968.
