Arsenic Is Found In Soft Drink
MARTINEZ (UPI)—A young scoolteacher who received threatening telephone calls for 10 days thought the caller was a crank who was pretending to | be the Zodiac killer. But police took the threats seriously after 24-year-old Daniel Williams found a lethal dose of arsenic in a bottle of a soft drink in his refrigerator. Williams, a teacher at Salesian High School in Richmond, told police the caller! talked of how he intended to kill several persons, then last; Sunday said: “You’re the dead duck.” Williams went out and when he returned home found someone had pried open the screen on a back door. However, a police search showed nothing was missing. Rut after the officers left and Williams took a drink from a bottle of opened soft drink in his refrigerator, he found it tasted “.metallic” and immedi-| ately spit it out. Police reported Friday that the bottle contained more than! enough arsenic to kill a human being. Williams said the caller identified himself as the still sought Zodiac killer of five, but police discounted the idea. The caller would “sob and complain of headaches.” Williams said, and on one occasion said he had gone to a Martinez school in search of victims but left when he found police there. Williams said the caller told him: “I’m too smart for them.”
Anyone who saw the Jim Dunbar show Oct 22 1969, remembers that conversation that the person calling the show said he was the Zodiac. I have yet to read any police report of how the police decided that Eric Weil was the the person who called pretending to be Zodiac. I have heard Eric's voice and compared it to the voice of that caller several times. It is not even a close match.
On the Dunbar show, Zodiac sobbed and complained of headaches. I doubt that could have been a coincidence, I suppose the caller could have heard the Dunbar show and repeated the same complaint to Williams.I believe they were the same caller with the same bad headaches! Talking about Martinez schools.
There is still an unsolved murder of a 9 yr old Martinez boy named Eric Coy, killed just after leaving his home at 11am Jan 24th 1987. He was killed next to a foot bridge that crossed Alhambra "Creek"at Martinez JR High. Could that be the school that Zodiac said he was looking for victims years before?
One witness said they saw a white car leaving that area about the time of the crime. 1987 was when Darlene's sister and I were being tormented by a man claiming to be Zodiac. One of his cars was a white older Lincoln with a Utah license plate.Something like "043HPI". One of my guy friends was a coach at Martinez Jr high school and used to stop by my home in 1987. I can't help but wonder if my stalker who was killing during that time, followed my guy friend to that school and planed to kill there?
