It's rapidly approaching half a Century since an unknown offender shot two teen's dead on Lake Herman Rd just before Christmas of 1968 and yet, with SFPD 'shelving' the case, the lives 'He' gave himself authority to end that night are lives that still matter so much. 50 years or 150 years, makes no difference.
If his remaining at large is purely down to him just always being one step ahead and having the kind of luck needed to win the Lottery aiding his still nameless status then that would be unfortunate, frustrating and unfair. If, as I and some others suspect, his attempts to elude capture and keep his identity secret have been assisted by 3rd parties, willingly or unwillingly at the time they encountered him, and they are now aware of his likely involvement or potentially even be 'Zodiac' and have remained silent, then it's not unfortunate, it's deliberate. It's no longer frustrating, but conspiring and no longer can it be said to be 'unfair' in favour of criminal.
See the very idea of certain individuals in positions of trust withholding or concealing vital details regarding the events immediately following Paul Stine's murder is, as the faceless one once put it, "Deplorable at best."
For those who possibly are engaging in wilful ignorance and maybe telling themselves "He could not be the Zodiac, not the 'thoughtful, caring and considerate' multi-millionaire that was on the street or house driveway that night" you may very well be correct and he isn't. But we, the public, will never know or have the means to form a solid opinion either way until a certain someone can decide if he was out walking a dog that night on Maple St or if he had no 4 legged friend with him, he wasn't on Maple either, and was standing in the driveway of a home somewhere in the vicinity of Jackson & Maple Streets.
But who cares? Paul was just some cabbie in a city of hundreds of cab drivers, all equally as unimportant as the next for anyone to care about. Paul isn't a friend of theirs nor is he a member of their family so it's someone else loss and problem, not theirs.
That's how they may relegate Paul into history and nothingness but just because he wasn't their family member, their close friend, he was someone's brother, someone son, and someone's husband and he, and his life, mattered then and it matters now!
I hope they are made to look at this photo everyday also:
Looks happy there doesn't she. Aged 16, life just starting for her, World is hers to take and explore. Betty has never been out on a date with a guy before, only now do her parents allow her, for the first time, to go out for the evening with Dave Faraday. And on her first date, a memorable and positive experience for most of us, Betty is left like this:
Alone, in the dark, no help or comfort at hand, left to die of 5 bullets to the back. If they know who pulled the trigger and sent the 5 missiles into the fleeing body of a terrified 16 year old girl and have said nothing then I, for once, agree with Zodiac's statement and you really do 'deserve to have holes in your heads."
