Hey G, Destry sent me a message earlier saying: " Hey Alex, Finished scanning and uploading all the documents my Father compiled. I will be emailing them over to you very soon." When I get them from Him, I shall let you know I really do appreciate it, Welsh. With any luck, I should have something new to share within the next month or so...fingers crossed. If you can G, in a spare few mins you get, can you see if there are any press reports of the crash Kane was involved in? I can't remember if I have come across it or if it's in HH's report and while I will check to see, can you see if you can find any newspaper reports on the incident?
Also, you found one of Kane's deceased brothers, but Harvey's report states there were two siblings that died, both Boys and brothers of Lawrence (obviously) with one dying at age of Six, the other Ten Months.

I once spent the better part of two days searching for press reports related to his crash and came up empty-handed. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give it another try, though at this point it seems extremely unlikely that any such press reports have been digitized. Should anything come up, though, you'll be the first to know. |

Cheers G. It may not have made the papers at all to begin with, a car crash, serious as this one would be, doesn't have to get reported especially if a big event or story breaks around the same time.
If you do search though G, try all known Aliases, Klein, Kaye, Barton and even King as He used on occasion.
I remember saying around the time I filed my third FOIA for the complete arrest history for Lawrence that it's dificult enough to submit a FOIA request in the correct layout and wording to be successful, but it makes it slightly more problematic when you don't know with certainty what the person's name is that you want information on or the name by which they, the FBI, will recognize and Have Him and the records under.
It wasn't a case of third time lucky in getting the requested info, either. I owe the success of that FOIA in large part to Miss Betts, who kindly gave me Lawrence Cane's Official FBI Number, which I added to the Request declaring that this is their official No. linked and associated with Cane. That's how the found the correct person and relevant documents requested.

Her father was Ben Barton, who was Frank Sinatra's music publisher . I found another crime Larry Kaye of NY was involved in, in Hollywood Ca. Oct.15th 1946. He was with his friends Max Shulman and Larry "Kay". They beat up a man and woman named James and Kathryn Drance. In the Omaha World Herald paper 3-30-53 There is a picture of a blond Mrs Larry Kaye of NY City. Feb 53 Eileen Barton was married to Wynn Lassner. Feb 57 she had a love named Vic Jarmel 4-20-61 Eileen Barton age 30 married Dan Shaw age 40 of Brielle NJ, in Juarez Mexico and were living in Beverly Hills.S.he was also an actress on the CBS video village series Oct 9th 1960 Richard and Pat Nixon invited Eileen Barton to go with them to Miami as their guest performer in a campain rally. She also sang on Frank Sinatra's shows at WGAR in 1944 and in 1955 she sang " The year we fell in love" on Sinatra's WFAA show. (Schenectady Gazette, June 24, 1952) According to an article you previously provided, the accomplice in the robbery in 1952 was later revealed to be someone named Harold Lefkowtiz who presumably was the stranger Larry Kaye said he met at a bar. (Lubbock Morning Avalanche, May 30, 1953) There appears to be some confusion as to the spelling of Lefkowtiz' name. Some sources record it as Lefkowtiz while others (namely, the Chicago papers) have it down as Leskowitz - I tend to believe that the latter spelling is the correct one.  As to the gossip column snippet about the unnamed "former network television producer," it was apparently a common sentiment among Kane's acquaintances in the days following his arrest -  |
