Maybe he just went back to wherever he crawled out from. Zodiac has become a mythical legend of sorts in his own right but you know the other fictional character he most reminds me of is? The Wizard in Oz. 'Zodiac, like our Wizard friend, hides in a cloud of smoke and illusion's which many buy into and the killer becomes a phantasm. But, there is a line spoken by 'Oz, The Great and Powerful' and it's one that fits Zodiac's persona and deliberate misdirection: "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain, The Great Oz has Spoken!"

If the Zodiac killer liked movies, then he probably would have seen “The Wizard of Oz” movie.
By the way, the star of the movie, Judy Garland, died on June 22, 1969.
Yes, the Zodiac killer and the Wizard of Oz both used misdirection to hide themselves.
What if the letters were intended to provide fake clues to confuse law enforcement?
If so, the Zodiac killer stopped writing the letters when he thought no one would ever catch him because then there would have been no need to continue the misdirection.

I think he is still alive and enjoying all of the attention he is still getting.I believe that he has sent notes that have been thought of as a copycat. Very sure that the 1990 card was from Zodiac and that he was upset about the NY Zodiac making claims he was him. I watched a true story on the ID channel last night. It was about a killer that police couldn't find, so they made an announcement that they had a break in the case and were digging up the victims body. It made headlines and John Douglas told the police that this would make the killer call to ask about what was going on in the case. He even told them the killer lived within two houses of the victim and drove a red or orange VW or Dotson. John was correct about everything ! The case was solved when the killer called ,he had been questioned early on in the case as a possible witness. I would like to see something like that done with the Zodiac case, to make him do something to show he is still around. I was looking again yesterday at Kanes arrest picture and I could see that his lazy eye is the exact eye my suspect has, so I think my suspect was connected to Larry Kane and used his name when he was arrested. That arrest picture is not the real Larry Kane ! It is totally different than Larry's other pictures. What do you think Welch Chappie ?

'The' Larry Kane has a scar on his forehead (from the auto accident) and scar on his wrist also.
It does seem though that while Kane was able to give false details when finding himself under attest and get away with it back in the 60's obviously due to their being no computers so taking suspects prints to submit would require manually sending them away for comparison with results taking many days by which time the suspect and his alias would be long released. That's why Kane's rap sheet lists so many different names under which he was arrested because they obviously were able to determine by his prints that Larry Klein, Lawrence Barton, Larry Kaye, Lawrence Cane etc were in fact all one and the same man. His physical description as listed my the FBI's document of a White Male, 5' 10, 155lbs, Black Hair and Brown eye's does seem very accurate and consistent with the known and accepted best known photo.....

Thanks WC, I would think that there would have been mention of his lazy eye in that document describing Kane, yet it doesn't. I am sure they took his prints, but do we know if those were compared to his other prints? Police don't always check them , unless they have a reason to do that. With murders that is a different story. All I know is that arrest picture looks nothing like Kane's other pictures, of which I have some good glossy pictures of him, not just what is seen on the net.Look closely at his right eye and you can see his pupil is facing upward while the other is looking straight forward. That is exactly what my suspects right eye does. In a drawing he left for me with the clues to two murders, he drew himself standing between the victims. He drew his face with his right eye looking upward while the other is straight. This man is the same man I still see from time to time, mostly during Holiday weekends.I do believe Kane is the best suspect for Donna Lass, but the man described as Zodiac had lighter hair with a red tint to it.I do believe that there were more than one person involved in the Z case, so I can't dismiss Kane as being a part of it.I have Kane's fingerprints, now that he is dead, maybe I can have Ricardo post them for me?
Kane's description does fit a man who approached me in a Lake Tahoe casino early 70's, who wanted me to leave that casino and go with him to one across the street , where he knew of a slot machine that paid off often. Thanks goodness my friends told me not to go with him !

Kane didn't have a natural lazy eye he had facial paralysis on the one side of his face after the brain injury. You can see it best in his forged drivers licence photo seen at the foot of this post. As is evident, the right side of Kane's face (the left side as we look at the photo) remains static with the smile appearing now to resemble more of a smirk as his mouth is only able to form a smile on the one side of his face.

Kane's paralysis, judging from the photo above, appears to effect the right side of his face and that would be accurate considering he had damaged the left frontal lobe of his brain because neurology has long been aware that the left side of the human brain controls the right side of the human body, and vice-versa.
If Kane had paralysis on one side of his face then maybe that's suggestive of paralysis to the entire right side of his body. If so, it bring to mind what Don Fouke said in his memo of the suspect on Jackson Street that night and the way in which he described his Gait saying:
"Subject at no time appeared to be in a hurry and walked with a shuffling lope."
Then, in 2008 while speaking for the Documentary 'This is the Zodiac Speaking' Fouke elaborated on the memo's general 'shuffling lope' comment by describing the suspect and the way he walked as follows:
"I remember seeing his eyes, I couldn't tell you what colour they were, it was dark enough that his eyes were concealed but.... you could say.... he sort of looked down, perhaps this lumbering gait.... Uhh, stumbling along, like a semi type limp may come up in my mind because he was putting his head down when he spotted the police car and turned into the entrance way of a house..."

Found this clip not so long ago and it was one I'd never seen before. Here is a brief interview with Don Fouke who is back at Jackson St and states that as he came up Jackson and his headlights lit the sidewalk, he noticed someone "Walking in the shadows of the tree's." Don make's the admission that he second guessed himself that night saying "Should have stopped and spoke to him.... But we didn't"

See when it comes to Lawrence, I believe I have excelled in showing excessive amounts of that of which Kane had almost zero of, that being, impulsivity & self control because unfortunately for me, Kane has an obituary on the Nevada Veteran's Memorial Website and one which allows for comments and posts to be published by online users wishing to express condolences or in memory of the deceased. This is rather unfortunate for myself because Lawrence Cane's Epitaph read's: 'WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN' in regards to his WWII service.
I have to show a lot of restraint and self control in order to refrain from being the first to add a post to his memorial page that will start:
"As some day it may happen that a suspect might be found, your name is on my list, your name is on my list, the Society Offender who is 6 ft underground and who never will be missed, he never will be missed..." Hehe
Or something sarcastic such as: RIP Lawrence, Rest in 'Paradice.' WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN is this epitaph's last post, his final cryptic message for the Zodiac to boast" |

I agree. Of the photo's I've seen Kane looks different in each. Harvey Hines said that Kane had two forged driving licences in two different names and were both forged and created within days of each other and yet, in each photo he looks totally different. Kind of reminds me of Zodiac's confident boast of "I look like the description passed out only when I do my thing, the rest of the time I look entirely different."
Kane didn't just want several ID's and aliases it seems, it's almost as though he wanted to 'create' a different look for each. But despite Kane looking very different in many of his photographs, one thing he cannot disguise is his eyes and that's what gives it away as being him.
Mod, how many photo's do you have of Kane? Any that are not in the public domain that you could send me?
