I do .... in the late sixties one newspaper here had 3 different horoscope displays I believe it was in the Examiner paper. the title of this horoscope was -The Zodiac It was a dark and adult natured ,the messages like A good time to get even with your enemys , or beware of close friends this week . even a new romance is easy at this time ( dark if you were married) I was not supposed to read it as a 8-10 yr old what I liked about it was the horoscope gave you cryptic symbols each symbol was a word and you put the words together I cannot find a examiner paper on micro film though i think it was a national displayed item

This sounds a fascinating potential find,Davb. It must be worth some further investigation,if possible [?].
There have been past discoveries, such as a cut out of ''And the pace isn't getting any slower'' from a syndicated Newspaper cartoon.
I had done some research on ''The Celebrity Cipher'',and discovered that this was a Newspaper weekly item, which started, with an appearance in The Baytown Sun,Texas - ultimately making an appearance in up to 150 Newspapers across America. And the Count Marco column, though best known for its home at The San Francisco Chronicle, enjoyed acclaim, beyond California.
As well as actual content, these syndicated items, are worth looking into, regardless of whether they were related to Zodiac's presumed locality of operation.Ricardo, only recently unearthed a possible Chicago connection to Zodiac, through a reader's correspondence with ''Count Marco'',for instance.
Do keep digging on ''The Zodiac'' horoscope. You never know, what you might find [?].

I tryed some called the Examiners headquarters and actully got thru to a guy that knew about their archiving he said nothing was archived before 85 or 86
it was in every paper the morning as I remember ,looks like finding a paper from that time is my only way or an old timer remembering too I can't be the only one that saw it and saw a big connection to ZK I'm not 100% it was the Examiner also

You might be thinking about Star Gazer. Star Gazer was a regular feature in many newspapers, including the Vallejo Times-Herald. Vallejo Times-Herald July 4, 1969 Star Gazer by Clay R. Pollan Your Daily Activity Guide According to the Stars To develop message for Friday, read words corresponding to numbers of your Zodiac birth sign.

If its not The Star Gazer,Davb, you might have other options [?].Though I can see that No.1 : AIM,could be ''big'' for Zodiac [!].Both in terms of ''Motive'',and practical use of a firearm [?]
You could ask around, among your contemporaries,or older folk [?].Also, check out local libraries [?].
There are companies, that advertise a service, which prints newspapers for specific date, and anywhere in the word.Usually,at a cost of around $20 per print.
I have spent countless sums on investigations, that I almost ''knew'' wouldn't turn up anything of note. But sometimes,it might be worth the expenditure, just to acquire a letter of ''rejection'',for instance.Further clues can be gleaned from a ''dead end'',allowing a new ''avenue'' to start with ''something''.
Good luck with that, and any shared information would be appreciated.

Yes I remember Star gazer it was the main horoscope in the big paper , it was very tame in the predictions This paper had 3 horoscopes on this page , and the main reason I sneaked a peak at it was the code /cryptic symbols were fun to decode ,and that dad decoded his. also this horoscope had the words shit and fuk in the solvings very small type
it 's been a while since I was looking into it ,The Examiner goes back to the 20's I think it said ,so they must have a copy of a paper from the sixties , the moon landing ,RFK , woodstock ,etc. if I come across anything I will post it .

Indeed, without meaning to get too sentimental, the 60's were the most extraordinary of times.Such a privilege to have experienced this ''real'' post world war II ''honeymoon''.John Glenn,JFK and his ''antedote'',''The Beatles''.The ''Counter Culture'' and Churchill's funeral.By '68,the 1970's had already really started [?].
How strange that, all these years later,a few of us have a preoccupation with a ''tawdry bad guy'',as a legacy, from those years.Perhaps,a bit sad [?][!].
The Zodiac Killer,as a phenomenon, was actually largely contained within Northern California, for many years.Growing up,many still didn't make the connection, with iconic figures, like ''Dirty Harry''.
In a way, solving this case, will be ''putting to bed'' unfinished business, from those times [?].
A ''Mass murderer extraordinaire '' !

Well put Rubislaw32 I just saw this S F Chronicle article about the zodiac saga from 07 ,and the movie from Duffy Jennings ,he says it very well too. www.sfgate.com/entertainment/article/Zodiac-vs-the-Chron-city-desk-2615125.phpZodiac was big here in the midwest in 69 also though ,teachers ,my relatives all abuzz about the facts ,new news One story I might relate is this In late 69 Nov or dec. I think ,we had one radio station that played top 40 WHB 710 they played the Hurdy Gurdy Man a lot as they took request . but it was getting out of hand how much it was played I was in the car with Dad after mowing a yard we owned ,A DJ Bobby Day ,at this station comes on and says "Okay ...here is a request for Hurdy Gurdy man ...again, of course we will play it ,but I and the manager just want to know why this is so requested , and not just from one section of the people ,we are getting kids ,teens , and adults wanting the song at all hours what is the reason you want it so much " Then he took calls on the radio after it played ,about the 3rd caller explained it was because the zodiac killer was playing it at BRS ..... you could hear the DJ and his Manager talking , then saying "we are never playing it again !" and haven't since . !

That's an interesting SF Chronicle article,Davb, and fascinating incite from you, living away from where the story was unfolding.
I remember ''Hurdy Gurdy Man'' - by Donovan, who, like his inseparable friend, and fellow ''folkie'',Bob Dylan, had turned their music style to psychedelic electric.
Though the ''Counter culture'' was probably more about middle class white kids, electing to leave home, penniless and without shoes on their feet, there was a purity about the love that they expressed [?].In retrospect,it did shame the foreign policies, and some domestic policies,of Western Governments, who ought to have known better.I,myself, saw some of what took place in Nigeria, during the Biafran War - though from a relatively safe position.
Yes,the Chronicle article gave a good insight. That Newspaper was mostly about what made the case ''City'' based, when the reality was that this was a ''provincial'' madman on the loose [?].Investigative reporters, like Paul Avery,no longer exist. They are simply too much of a liability, these days, from a legal and policing perspective [?].
From a political point of view, the case of The Zodiac Killer was really about the California DOJ and FBI,with the local Newspapers in the middle. The SFPD and Vallejo Police, did not perform well...but not necessarily, through fault of their own.Perhaps, too many ''Chiefs'',in the end [?].
I remember the case of ''The Yorkshire Ripper'',here in Britain,in the late seventies. It was pretty much a debacle from the start to finish ! The Scandanavians were laughing, every time there was a new murder,as if our Police forces were like The Keystone Cops [!].
I'm not sure that any society is ever prepared for the ''successful'' exploits of a mass murderer [?].
But,in fairness, those were the days of manual filing.Crimes of this nature, and on this scale,''ought'' not happen again.
My only concern, with the case of The Zodiac Killer,is that, after all this time, and all that has been written, the individual crimes are ''too prejudiced'' to prosecute.Any Defense team, worth their salt, would agree to no deals, and advise Zodiac to admit to nothing.
Hope not [?].
