Thanks for the link, it is nice to see so many positive words said about him. I believe that if SFPD didn't demote him, he may have caught the Zodiac. Of all the detectives that I have talked to over the years, he was the most dedicated in solving the case.
Although Mike Maloney was another Detective who was dedicated. He died too young and may have broken the case as well. I was lucky to have met all three in the article, Steve McQueen , Clint Eastwood and Dave Toschi. Still have a crush on Clint!

I met him a few times, the first time was in Monterey where he had played golf. He walked up to me sitting in a car and asked for a light to smoke. The next time was a few yrs later on the set of Dirty Harry. I was dating a Hollywood lighting director , so I met many stars during that time and sat on the sets of some being filmed.
That is how I was able to be in Steel Yard Blues.
The movie with Burt was because I was working in the winery where that was being filmed and was asked to be in the movie.

I had two parts, one was a hooker who was Jane Fonda's best friend ,Don Sutherland walks up to me and asks where Iris is? (Iris was Jane Fonda in the movie.) I had platinum blonde hair with orange ribbons in that scene and a short orange dress with high heels. In another scene I have a long reddish brown curly wig on and I am dressed as a hippie, standing in front of the lions cage at the San Francisco Zoo. Don Sutherland is working inside of the cage collecting the lion doo doo, to put in a bag and drop it from a plane onto his brothers house who was a DA in the movie. I am on the left side of the screen in that shot, eating popcorn. (It was a profile shot) My boyfriend Bill Curtis who was the lighting director AKA Gaffer, is how I got into that movie. We met when they were filming the Antioch Race track. I was in the audience for that scene, but I don't think I am shown at least not up close. The stars in that movie were all very nice, Don was so funny as well as Peter Boyle. Its a silly movie, I had a lot of fun doing it.
