It is getting close to another 50th adversary, the stabbings of Bryan and Cecelia at Lake Berryessa. We will be meeting there again this year about 5:30 pm , everyone is welcome to join us. ( Except Zodiac) We leave close to 7pm before the ranger locks the gate. Then we go to Napa for dinner and talk more about the case. Hope to see some of you there. There will be two men there interviewing and filming. If you do not want to be interviewed or filmed , just let them know and they will respect that. They have interviewed me a few times so I will ask not to be interviewed.
Pam wants to apologize for making up the story of being at Blue Rock that night. She is very sorry and said she was having a stroke at the time of her interview, is why that happened.

I have been doing a lot of reading and going over police reports and statements I have read about the Lake B case. It is easy to forget exactly what was written in so many reports. I have to say that I can't help but think that the investigators who interviewed Bryan Hartnell, took some of what they thought they heard and then wrote it and made it into a fact.
Going over most of the reports and different statements made by Bryan Hartnell. I saw a few discrepancy's in the what Hartnell told them about the costume.
There is one poster in particular, who hasn't read everything, or he wouldn't have made the accusation that I was making up the story of finding the actual killing costume in my car. He makes his statement because he read that the hood part of the costume was made of material and not like what I had found in the back seat of my car on Sept. 28th or 29th 1969.
First of all let me say that I am an accomplished seamstress and in no way could the killing costume be made in one solid piece. It may have looked that way to Bryan Hartnell, because it was also black and matched the color of the bib part of the costume. If it had been made the way most thought , the Zodiac would not be able to turn his head.
It in two parts , he could turn his head without a problem, especially having the two sets of glasses holding it in place.
When the reporting officer wrote that the hood was elaborately sewn, it was assumed that was the head piece right? The only elaborate part of that costume was the logo that may have been sewn, or it could have been made to look sewn. I do remember that the logo was not something that I would be able to remove easily and so I didn't remove it. The hood was very simple, it was a tall paper sack like a grocery bag, painted black to match the bottom half, with round cut outs for the eyes (Not slits). I do not remember if the nose and mouth were cut out or not?
Again reading everything that Bryan told the officers, he said the hood looked like a "paper sack". He also had mentioned he was able to see the killers jacket collar under the hood. The only way for that to happen, would be if it were as I have stated, in "two" parts. The hood part was separate from the bib aka poncho part of that costume. Somehow the reporting officer when talking to Hartnell , mistook what he said when he talked about the sewn part and thought he said the hood was elaborately sewn.
The poster who wants desperately to discredit what I had to say about the costume, has posted I had to be wrong or lying , because there couldn't be stitching on a paper sack. Well in all actuality you can stitch paper, but there was not any on the Hood made of paper that was planted in my car very soon after the stabbings. The only thing that looked sewn was that logo. If the edges of the bib were sewn , then I forgot. I found the costume before it was announced in the Napa paper. So the people who think a hoaxer planted everything in my car that day are very wrong. The other things planted that day in my car where things that you would think belonged to an artist? Many colored pens in an ammo can, a ruler , compass radius , a template to write the alphabet in block letters. Other things that could belonged to Cecelia. Most everything that was put in the car, pertained to the Lake Berryessa case. The hood was freshly painted, because I could still smell the paint or ink on it after I rolled up the windows in my car and was driving home. I threw that part away as soon as I got there. It is buried under 50 yrs of garbage at the Napa dump.

Also the article about the young teen who was picked up by a man who could have been Zodiac in ST Helena. The boys name is Frank Espinoza he was 16 yrs old. That was all on that same front page , its tell about the movie I was in with Burt Reynolds, it had one scene at Lake Berryessa! The movie made for CBS TV, was called the Return at first, then changed to Hunters are for killing. Now to buy it it is called Hard Frame. The turn out for Cecelia's 50th anniversary had the most people ever ,than yrs before. It was very nice to see so many of you there and at her grave site. I met some new people, very nice people! I did not see my stalker there this year, perhaps he did die recently? It was pretty cold at the lake this year not like the 91 degrees it was on Sept 27th 1969. The 28th and 29th were 90 degrees, that is why the windows were down in my car, which made it easy for the killer to put his costume and many other things in the car that day. |

I havent seen one on youtube.It seems likely this is the end of police doing much to catch Zodiac now passed the 50 years of the begining of it all ( when we knew it was Zodiac in Aug. 69)
Less they find dna off Cheri Bates's pants and match it .
Malpaso prod. Is making a Atlana bomber film ( Richard Jewell), looks dull, Clint E. Should revive dirty harry in someway as his final work

Should revive dirty harry in someway as his final work ( I sent my story to them) There were two camera crews there filming, one for sure is a documentary. There is still one more 50th anniversary to cover and that is Paul Stine. Once that is finished they will edit and then do what ever they plan to do with all of the filming. One guy has been filming us for about a year now! The other is someone who has done work for Netflix , he did "Evil Genius". I didn't walk down to the crime scene this year , it was too cold for me. I stayed up at the pick-nick table and talked to a few of my friends there. I know that Tom V took a very pretty picture of the lake as he stood at the crime scene. Not sure if he posted it on his site or not? He sent it to me in a email. Not sure if anyone did a video to put on You Tube. Tom V has declared Cheri Jo Bates a Zodiac victim for sure and not just a possible victim! I never had any doubt, because I do believe that the Bible put with the killing costume in my car Sept 28th or 29th 1969 belonged to Cheri Jo. The best DNA will be from two of the first letters, VPD has been working on that for about a year. I am hoping that they were able to enter it into GED match and are waiting on that? The Zodiac case has not been forgotten, it is still a open case. I have my fingers crossed that VPD will make an announcement of an arrest, or that it is solved very soon! |

The zodiacs were 1/3 to 2/3rds the way threw their murders ...not starting out ...maybe more like 3/4ths

Davb3, I do not believe that Zodiac has ever stopped his killing. He was still doing his "thing"in the late 1990's in Contra Costa County. The detective handling those cases has DNA from at least one of those crimes. He likes my Honcho suspect for those murders, because some of the girls who escaped being killed by him, have ID'd Honcho as the killer.
VPD has DNA from two of the first letters that Zodiac sent. Riverside has been no help with what they collected. They are still stuck on their suspect B.B who did not match their DNA.
Tom V has listed Cheri Jo Bates as a Zodiac victim, no longer and "possible" , but a true Victim! I never had any doubt she was a Z victim, glad to see others are finally getting on board.
