Chris Harris investigated the Zodiac killer in 1970 when he was the representative for Joseph DeLouise, the psychic from Chicago who met with the police in Vallejo (as explained in Robert Graysmith’s 1986 book, Zodiac).
Yeah, Harris is "really" credible. What are the odds that he represented DeLouise and then "just happened" to have overheard Best saying what he did? Such hearsay statements from proven publicity minded characters like Harris are nonsense.
You people are lame. You were not even born when Harris was investigating the Zodiac Killer. But you feel the need to discredit information that you have only read about not experienced for yourselves. I think Harris is 100 correct it was Earl Van Best Jr. Never in the history of"Claims" regarding the Zodiac Killer's identity has anyone had solid Forensic Proof and Eye witness testimony to back it up until Gary Stewart and Chris Harris came along. If you were to take off your Dunce hats and actually use your brain you would realize that forensics don't lie but Police Officers do! Anyone who doesn't believe the forensic Proof to keep the Zodiac a mystery is a BAFOON!

Thanks for your contribution,''Justin''.
Your opinions appear to be ''straightforward'' [?].You think that Harris is [100% ?] correct that it was Earl Van Best Jr.,and yet it is unacceptable that others may disagree [?].The difference of opinion is based on what, precisely [?].
Yes,forensics don't lie - as a general statement of fact. From what I am aware,Law Enforcement have had no further interest in Earl Van Best Jr as a Zodiac suspect - and at least for the last nine months.
Indeed,as in any walk of life,Police Officers have been known to lie.In these isolated cases, the individuals are usually asked to resign or ''retire'' from the force. As a soon to be retired detective once said : ''Hell,we even lie to the fish in the sea.''
That detective was reflecting ironically - in the vast majority of cases, its about general prevarication and subterfuge - in order to protect information that may be useful in court at a later time.If this information is compromised before,it may prove prejudicial against a prospective conviction. One has to be realistic enough to give the cops some ''width'' [?] - in the long term interests of Justice [?].
Unless the Police have a vested interest in the future of Northern Californian tourism, there really is no cover-up on the Zodiac case.Just too many of the victim's ''bereaved'' are still waiting for answers.Answers that Law Enforcement remain optimistic about finding - by having enough evidence, with which to proceed to court.
Keep the posts coming - and thank you again,Justin.
Rubislaw32: There you go CA DOJ - for you're not out of the woods yourselves. One of those Chief Constables was a relative ''new boy'' to his very public position, and doesn't know to this day, why he was made a scapegoat. This has to stop. Go and get the Zodiac.

Rubislaw32: There you go FBI - another example of the FBI (Comey) leaving a mess behind, through having the arrogance of believing that you are a law unto yourselves. Is it any wonder Riverside PD never wanted you in their back yard ? Mucky pups, crooks & thugs.

Rubislaw32: Recriminations were brutal in the wake of James Comey's ''visitations''. 4 senior police officers at the C.C.U. were singled out and shamed, losing their jobs under varying description. Also to go were two Chief Constables and Head of the Police Authority.

Rubislaw32: Why did Congress not get to hear about any of this ? Because Robert Mueller's unredacted report into Comey's dismissal was offered to them, on the basis that they not divulge those parts to the the public. Congress refused, as a matter of moral principle.

Rubislaw32: e-mails were being intercepted by senior police behaving like puerile schoolboys at Police Scotland's Counter Corruption Unit - bearing in mind that Comey was also tasked with investigating Mrs Clinton's e-mails on the basis of possible security breaches.

Rubislaw32: It is certainly ironic that Mr Comey was tasked with investigating Russian intervention in the 2016 US Presidential Election when, for all IOCCO knew initially, Comey without security clearance, could have been a Russian spy. In addition, that Comey's...

Rubislaw32: Now out of track on credulity, the FBI are seen as the Zodiac-lepers, with the CA DOJ delivering their damnation on May 14th 2022. A new meaning for their once proud name ''The Untouchables'' - the FBI making their case skeletons even more conspicuous.

Rubislaw32: For the FBI since May 9th 2017, it has been about selling the false perception they hold a key role in the Zodiac case - then using this to peddle their dishonest proclamations. The reality ? DOJ's don't want nor need what the FBI are touting as info..

Rubislaw32: Indeed FBI - ''You don't know what you got until you lose it''. First call after Trump booted Comey's a*s ? Get cosy with Hearst because you're going to need a media mogul perpetuating the myth that you are still at the heart of Zodiac investigations.

Rubislaw32: they weren't required. Just too dramatic, and for theatrical effect. He was caught red-handed (IOCCO) on March 4th 2015 when he was busy trying to convince The Crown Office that he was in charge of the Zodiac case. Dishonest, but comical.
