Armond can't make up his mind who he saw, where they were and what they were doing. Pelissetti's public version.... "I turned to the right and saw a man walking his dog. He was somewhat older than the description I had....A whole lot thinner and He had absolutely no blood on his clothes. I asked that Gentleman had he seen anybody walking in the area and he told me 'No." Private Telephone Conversation admittion by Pelissetti: " There is a very limited timeframe here. When I got down to the Intersection there was a White Guy in the driveway of a house. He wasn't doing anything, He was just standing there. I called him over and kept this man around for a while." So Armond admits publicaly he asked a white guy had he seen anyone in the area, and privately admits He called this white guy over. So, based on this and Zodiac's claim of "Cop car pulled up and one of them called me over and asked had I seen anyone acting suspicious or strange in the past 5 to 10 mins' I believe that it was Armond, not Don, who stopped and called Z over and Don is, as he always has stated, being honest and did not stop anyone but simply contiuned past the white guy. The Zodiac killer also wrote “I said yes there was this man who was running by waving a gun & the cops peeled rubber & went around the corner as I directed them & I disappeared into the park a block & a half away never to be seen again.” I would like to know to which cops that claim would apply.

If Zodiac said that, and I would think its likely He did, then if it were to Don Fouke, Armond Pelissetti or Unknown 3rd squad Car Patrolman is not really going to matter because whichever it was is not going to admit it was them. Imagine the embarrassment for that cop if He did admit to it? He isn't likelt to be rushing to call a press confrence to announce: "I can confirm Ladies & Gentlemen that yes, it is true, that I had the most wanted man in The United States literally within arms lenght and rather than apprehend this serial murderer, I instead asked him for his help, help which Zodiac was only to happy to offer me by pointing to area about a block away saying that there was a man running by with a gun. I then thanked the Zodiac for stopping to assist us in our search for him, and sped off up street chasing phantoms."
Me personally, I believe it was Pelissetti who encountered and stopped to speak with Zodiac. Why? Because what is overlooked is the fact that Don has consistently denied ever speaking with a white male on Jackson, where-as, Armond freely and openly admits he encountered a white guy somewhere at or near Jax & Mle Intersects and also admits He, Not Fouke, asked that White guy had he seen anyone in the area which, as it happens, is exactly what Zodiac said the Cop who stopped him had asked him.
Edited Revision: I stated I personally believe it was AP and not DF that stops to speak to Zodiac but that is, in hindsight, not what I am believe to the discounting of anything else and I think a more accurate way of stating my opinion is to say I would give just as much time and attention to looking nto AP as the possible cop who Zodiac refers to as having pulled a goof that I would to the generally accepted idea that it was DF and my grounds or basis for believing this to be a plausible notion is found in the words of Armond Pelissetti Himself, and I quote: s dog "I turned to the right and I saw a man walking His dog (it's important to note here that privately in conversation with Michael Butterfield, Armond is alleged to have told Butterfield in confidence that this man in question actually had no dog at all and was not on Maple street, but a front driveway area of a house at the Maple Intersection). He was somewhat older than the description I had (Which was given to him by the witnesses who called it in, who later wen't on to help devise the composite drawing that Foule said was similar to the guy He saw but the suspect was OLDER than the witnesses seem to place Him in their composite). I asked that Gentleman had He seen anyone in the area and He told me 'No."
So my way of looking at this incident cannot overlook the facts as they are in which Don Fouke has consistently denied speaking to a suspect that night, while another Officer who was the first to arrive on scene, has openly admitted He Did speak to a white male that night and what He says He asked that White Male is almost identical to what Zodiac stated His cop had asked him, too.

Interesting points made there...indeed,it is probable that Zodiac had used a silencer before. With regard to Paul Stine's murder,I have heard different with regard to the teens...that,in effect,it was a single gunshot that drew their attention....which would,if true, indicate that a silencer was not used by ''Zodiac'' - and that a further inference could be that the taxi cab was a veritable reverberation chamber, even if one window was partially open [?].
I think also, the ''whole Don Foulkes business'' has rather detracted from the ''main event'' - focusing on precisely what happened at the point of Mr.Stine's execution, and the proceeding time ''until''the perpetrator left the scene of the crime [?].

Don saw someone coming down Jax street who He said later was similar in appearance to the composite drawing however, the man was actually older and heavier in appearence. Based on Fouke's recollection, the Jackson St shuffler looked something like this: And the man in the area who mr Pelissetti spoke with is this man, Kjell Qvale, picture of Kjell below from 1971.... Obviously they look nothing alike at all apart from the fact they clearly do!

Yes,there is certainly a similarity there, between the artist's impression and Kjell Qvale.
''Face value'' ? - It's a big problem [?].
Stick a pair of spectacles on someone, then slick back their hair - suddenly they look 15 years older [?].
There is no doubt that photo-fits or artists impressions can be of some value - particularly eliminating some suspects - but to ''persuade'' in a positive way can be a pretext to folly [?].
I have seen a number of photo-fits,when published with description, add ''to be taken as a passing resemblance''.And yet, when they are distributed and posted as ''flys'',merely stand as a picture on their own.At that point, one wonders about their true value [?].
As a general observation, fifty years ago there were less choices of personal accessories [like style of spectacles],and personal grooming products in general.Perhaps it's a stretch to claim that people looked more clone like, but I do think that it a gave a more overall look of ''sandwiching'' age gap [?].
Paul Stine,for instance,could pass for a fifty year old,by to-days standards of ''looks'' [?].
Like for like,look for look - it's a struggle.

No this is true. Number of men with Horn Rimmed specs in 69, I don't know, one in every 5 to 10 men? Everyone who was anyone with black HR Glasses was a look-a-like for the Composite.
These were never suggested to be on or near the crime scene on October 11 though, this man Kjell with the HR Glasses, He was!

Gosh ! We are tumbling out of ''Geary Street'' here.
I must get more educated on Kjell [...sounds like a hair product...] and his brother. What I do find of great interest is their ''car mechanics'' connection, since I do believe Zodiac would have had close ties to a garage business.
Here's a piece of trivia : When,in 1989,the ''Iron Curtain'' came crashing down, the second most popular product, from the West, was Beatles Albums.
The first ? - Hair dying peroxide.

Most understandable. After decades or a lifelong existing under a Soviet Iron Fist along with it's similar metalic made curtain and almost overnight in terms of how longthe soviet existed to time taken to fall, I would imagine the newly obtained status and ability to look out over upon the Western Free World and be in awe and shock that 'All you see available over there to them, is now yours to get a slice of also' then it wouldn't be long before some Russians noted the number of men aged 50 plus with a full wonderful mop of jet black, brown, blonde hair with no grey in sight is out of proportion significantly with that of their own population and then, Ah-ha! Peroxide! Place an order for this product in the shed-load. We'll use so much that the whole population that isn't dispersing of their grey hair will be made light headed and dizzy by the whif of every else who is. Stalin would have gone absolutely nuts! "This peroxide shall be outlawed and we shall use propeganda to convince the people.... Peroxide and its ability to transform color is achieved by use of Voodoo. Death will strike peroxide user with evil curse within 3years. Yours Truthfully, Stalin."

I mean let there be no doubt that The Qvale crew were haters of the female folk. Take exhibit A below that shows Kjell far left and the type of Women hating He would associate himself with..... Click the image to enlarge the haters:

Very interesting photo - no doubt, motor racing fraternity that Mr.Qvale liked to associate himself with [?].
The man with his arm on ''the only bird'',is the one and only, the motor racing legend that is Sterling Moss.
I have always felt, from ''day one'',that Zodiac chose to have close contacts with like minded ''petrol heads''.Cars are their lovers, above all else, including women - who nevertheless hold a place - more often than not,as ''decoration'' to re-enforce the ''sexiness'' of their passion and pursuit.
Baiting the highway cops, was probably what Zodiac liked to do,in between planning and enacting his dastardly deeds [?].

If you ask the San Fran Police Dpt for a definitive answer I am sure the'll be happy to tell you. Just walk into the lobby of the SFPD HQ in DownTown San Francisco and ask the Desk Sgt on duty as you walk in can He be of assistance in helping you with a question relating to the Zodiac case? You'll either get arrested for using the word Zodiac in an official SFPD building, a felony offence under the assault and Battery criminal statute with this subsection stating the offence is committed when "The word/name 'ZODIAC/ZODIAC KILLER/THE ZODIAC or a combination of these words are used directly to, or in the presence of, a SFPD Officer which is assaulting His ego and battery upon the ears of the official. Ask them why they refused to arrest Zodiac when He tried running awayup some steps only have this effort thwarted and found Himself hearing police & He be 'called over to them.' Ask the Detective on Duty why His Dpt can't arrest serial killing lunatcs when they present themselves on a platter for police by jumping in front of the prowl vehicle with "BOO! YOU ARE DOOMED......TO RIDICULE YOU IDIOT!" See how many times you can say the word 'ZODIAC' at them before shots are fired. The record is 24.

Going back to the subject of this thread for a moment, Kjell was quoted in 2008 while speaking of how He got interested in the Automotive Industry, saying:
"I was standing on the corner when this goofy-looking car pulls up to the curb in front of me..."
Car pulls up and the word 'Goof' is mentioned?? Tut tut tut Mr Q, I mean, X, I mean...Z? Whatever!!

I am absolutely convinced and completely confident in arriving at the exact same conclusion that SFPD Chief of Inspectors Martin Lee arrived at when, while speaking to Paul Avery at the Chronicle who later published Lee's opinion in which He made the following observations followed by His conclusion: "We searched that whole area tree by tree and bush by Bush, a mouse couldnt have escaped our attention. He was NOT in that park or anywhere near it"
He then directly called the Zodiac a liar!
That is a conclusion I absolutely agree with and do so confidently on it's accuracy.

Just a thought. To my mind, it's highly improbable that the Police have never identified the dog walker. He's potentially a valuable witness to a serious crime, he MUST live locally (how many people walk their dogs to the other side of town last thing at night, they don't, they walk round the block) yet as far as I'm aware this witness's name has never been made public when so many others have. It seems logical that a few questions to locals asking who owns a particular dog would've got the name in a matter of hours, so it's reasonable to believe that his name is known to the authorities.
I agree that you probably wouldn't rule KQ out as a potential suspect, but also we should consider that there were two, possibly three, potential suspects that night, the man at the crime scene, the man seen turning away from police and into a property (probably the same man) and the dog walker. If KQ was the dog walker, it's likely he was questioned after, but it's also likely he's "pulled strings" at a high level so as not to have his name appear anywhere. This could be no more than wanting to avoid damage to his businesses by being linked to a serious crime.
Like I said, you probably wouldn't rule him out given some of the circumstantial stuff MikeR has come up with but it could also just be an attempt to avoid damage to a reputation.

I have questions about the dog walker, too. Is it just a coincidence that the Zodiac killer mentioned dogs in the letter sent to the San Francisco Chronicle? The Zodiac killer wrote, “The dogs never came with in 2 blocks of me & they were to the west” The Zodiac killer did not want anyone to think that he was near any dogs.
